Sunday: Picnic at the Water Park and the Hotel

After the service at Cristo Rey church we went to a nearby park with soccer fields, pools and water slides for a picnic lunch with some of the members of the congregation.
Picture of one of the water slides at the park.  The highest slide was six stories high.  There were 3 large pools in the park.

Pciture of our orientation and welcome by staff of Habitat for Humanity in the picnic area.  The picnic tables were round and made out of concrete and had a roof made ouut corrigated steel painted red.

Picture of a gnome at the entrenace to the park, reminds me of some of the gnomes or trolls you see in the new Glarus and Mount Horeb area of Wisconsin where I grew up.

After lunch we headed to our hotel in Santa Ana.  Santa Ana is the second largest city in El Slavador and is surrounded by mountains.  After we checked in we had a chance to walk around the city a little bit before it got dark.   Most shops close around 6:00pm and the city is pretty quite by 7:00pm.  The hotel had a roof top terrace that gives a pretty good view of the city.
